It literally was. WWF Magazine had a section that listed people's former gimmicks and when I saw Smash > Repo Man I thought it was actually a joke. That nigger didn't look anything like Smash.
Then again I didn't recognize Razor Ramon as Scott hall even though I was a huge Scott Hall fan from his AWA days.

Combination of the mask and hair but what's underrated is how he moved as Repo. He was a huge fucker but hunched and snuck around most of the time to play the role of Repo so there was no way this little slinking around fuck would be the huge nigga from Demolition in your little mark eyes.
