What ended up happening is what anyone with a brain said was going to happen back when AEW was first announced. Japan/the indies are going to be killed off in AEW's attempt to compete with WWE.

Say what you will about them, but PWG and ROH was a place for young talent to make a name for themselves, both are dead now. That's why I laugh when I see people claim AEW stopped WWE's "monopoly". There's literally less places to work now vs. 10/20 years ago.
