There's a lot going on emotionally in that match (Tam used to be Saya's mentor, but Saya's been beating her for three years and has beaten her three times over the course of the past half year in major matches). Part of what makes the match good is knowing the story details (like the fact that Saya ended Tam's career using Tam's own finisher).
I don't think it was lack of urgency so much as they were doing stuff that takes it out of a person. Those slaps were hard.
But not everything is going to be everyone's cup of tea. Good on you for keeping an open mind.
