The "escape the cage" stipulation is made to be a decision that the combatants have to make. Do I escape while I can? Or, do I return to the cage and inflict more punishment on my hated enemy.
You saw Priest struggling with this decision before finally deciding that enough was enough. He showed mercy and, that will either be the end of it, or it will be his undoing. Sometimes, walking away from a fight where you thoroughly defeated your opponent is more effective than killing him outright. We'll see what kind of a man Drew is going forward.
