Hogan/Undertaker Piledriver

No.17798668 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Everyone has heard the story about Hogan "lying" about getting injured by Undertaker's tombstone piledriver, and how his head never hit the chair, his flimsy explanation for why he got injured even though he didn't touch the chair... etc. Everyone seems to assume that Hogan is lying and Undertaker did everything right. I just watched it back, and I think it was a botch.

Steve Richards talked about it in his podcast, and he pointed out that Hogan's arms aren't where they are supposed to be, but he just brushes it off. I think he is missing a critical element. Neither of Hogan's arms are where they are supposed to be, and neither of Undertaker's arms are where they are supposed to be. Taker's arms should be around Hogan's waist, and Hogan's arms should be around Taker's waist. Their spines should be roughly parallel. Instead, one of Hogan's arms is going over Undertaker's shoulder, and the other is going around Undertaker's side. This is true of Undertaker as well, he has one going under Hogan's shoulder/collarbone, and the other going around his side. So not only is this going to put a lot of force into Hogan's collarbone, they are also basically doing this with Hogan's spine at an awkward angle instead of being parallel with Undertaker's and perpendicular to the mat. Despite Hogan's numerous, objective lies, I feel like he might have actually gotten injured here, and likely neither of them understood why or whose fault it was (I'd guess both are at fault). Is there any merit to this line of thinking?
