So there was no reason for Piper to have to go through Patterson's gay initiation shit for his spot, which many of the boys did. Piper was only 15 years old when he got into the wrestling business. And sadly, there is a long history of sexual abuse, especially among younger wrestlers. Both Alfred Hayes and Pat Patterson were known for this, and both ended up with key roles in Vince's WWF. And Piper's interactions in shoot interviews does reflect a history of childhood sexual abuse. However, it likely wasn't Pat in his case given when and where Piper came up in the business. But that doesn't mean he wouldn't have been able to spot the telltale signs of abusers, or that he wouldn't have heard about Pat's reputation and been disgusted by it.
