Let's say they never made the jump back to WWE and they worked out all their differences with the people in AEW. Would AEW be beating WWE in the ratings right now?

Doubt it. AEW's main problem is not a lack of in-ring talent. Their issue is with the booking and the lack of leadership. If Tony were to hand over operations to someone that knew what they were doing and gave them his absolute support, then there may be an improvement in their fortune.

They were cratering in AEW. Moving to WWE took them from being doomed prospects to top-level main eventers.

I primarily blame this on Tony's crappy booking, but it doesn't change that AEW would not benefit from still having Cody and Phil.

aew could have the rock and john cena and stone cold and tony's shit booking would get people to stop watching because he's friends with the petite and madam page and none of the other stars care about booking things right as long as they can make "cool" anime spots that don't make sense to be there but they wanted to do it because of circus showmanship
