Perry and Priest have most of the tools. I don't know if they will ever get over, but I think they could in theory. Then again, Austin Theory has all the tools, but I'd put him in the "this nigga is never getting over" category.

They did want to see NXT, or at least they claimed to love all those shitters. It's just that the two were head-to-head. But Johnny Reddit and Adam Cole were getting Meltzer stars left and right. The whole of the Undisputed Era, as well. AEW fans wanted to see these guys, they said Vince was retarded for seeing Cole as a manager.

You should also consider there was a split between AEW fans who came over from the Elite/Bullet Club fad and the ones who came over straight from WWE. The former were excited for Adam Cole and ReDragon because they were closely associated with their faves. Everyone else just saw them as the Undisputed Era guys who killed NXT.

i think the only way to be genuinely over in wrestling (like actually over and not just flash in the pan fad over) would be to have like literally no blemishes in any aspect of your career, or to have such forgettable "bad" moments that no one commits them to memory. especially nowadays since people will remember your dogshit match or promo or bad botch or whatever much more than before the internet. this is especially true with the smark crowd cuz they'll just bring up said shitty moment to pop the boys
