I’m a machinist. Spend my days with metal, heat, and tools. It’s the kind of work that gets under your skin, leaves you tired at the end of the day, but it’s honest. I’m surrounded by tough guys, each one doing his part, keeping the machines running.
But there’s something else we share, something most people wouldn’t expect: we’re all into Stardom wrestling.
At first, I didn’t say anything. I didn’t want to look soft in front of the others. But then one day, I was eating lunch in the break room, scrolling through my phone, and I saw a match between Mayu Iwatani and Syuri. It was brutal - full of speed, power, and heart. I couldn’t help but watch. Then, out of nowhere, Terry, the guy who usually grunts at you when you pass him, walked up.
"You're watching Stardom?" he asked, leaning over my shoulder.
I paused. "Yeah. You into it?"
He grinned. "Hell yeah. I’ve been watching since way back. You see that match last week? Utami just about killed her opponent with that lariat."
“Yeah, I saw it,” I said, surprised. “I didn’t know you were a fan.”
“Man, you'd be surprised,” he chuckled. “Don’t let these dirty overalls fool you. Those women are tougher than anyone on this floor.”
