I think more or less, Tony sees WWE is on the back foot and making desperate moves to keep their standing. If the WWE team were confident in themselves, you wouldn't have Paul going out and doing interviews complaining about being criticized. WrestleMania this year was a flop for a lot of fans, so it seems that after a rough end to 2022 and a very meh 2023, AEW is finally getting back to making themselves the alternative. Meanwhile in WWE-Land, Rey Fenix and Malakai Black are taking loses already, Miro is doing something in the tag division and doing a poor version of the Redeemer character. WWE are counter-producing shows during important AEW weekends.
If there is any theory, it should be TK can see they WWE's feathers are ruffled the same way they were when Triple H put out the public press release after the first Dynamite where he said "Congrats. But its a marathon not a sprint!"
