Nobody said he was, but Raven was obviously pulling from numerous influences. The "grunge" bands didn't even call themselves that, it was a ridiculous marketing term from record labels and the media. Perhaps Heyman told Raven to be "grunge" guy and he was like "sure" and got a flannel shirt and then added whatever the hell else he wanted including Suicidal Tendencies t-shirts and dark eye shadow.
