>>17917525>Then why would you care if people hate, dislike, or disapprove of gays?Because hate translates into laws that turn into persecution. Not being able to do any of the stuff I pointed out you're free to do here (

You act as though attitudes don't have an effect on people's rights. They absolutely do. I'm not of a mind where people ought to be forced to change their views or shamed into it. But I will absolutely advocate for people's rights to be who they are and I don't understand why you would have a problem with that.
If you feel shame from anything I say, that's on you because I ain't judging you.
>I wouldn't even think about gay people if they weren't constantly reminding me they exist..why would IAnd I'm sure many gays wouldn't even think of straights if straights weren't reminding them that we exist.
Funny how that works.
But people exist. And existing in an open manner is going to remind others of that fact.
When you're part of a marginalized community that's historically discriminated against, both by laws and by attitudes, reminding people you exist is an essential first step for advocating for your rights. No one ever earned their rights by staying out of sight and mind.
>That's not true. I know a lot of gay people who are not happy and hate the lifestyle they are in, constantly being cheated on and the various diseases and protection involved. This is a really ignorant viewpoint if you think everything about being a homosexual is hunky dory because you are certainly mistaken.People are unhappy in general. The same can be said about many straight people.
With gays, a lot of it boils down to social expectations placed on them from outside. Unapproving neighbors and family. Churches. Businesses. Hell, look around here and the crap that's said about people for being gay. It's a lot easier for some to be closeted and not deal with this shit.
At the end of the day it doesn't change their actual orientation though.
