Legana spent all day worrying that shit went too far for youtube and social media, he took fan response on twitter as a shoot.
When Cornette quit that shitty environment it's because Legana threw a fit at him over the very old, already nationally broadcast "he's so tough you could strap a bucket of fried chicken on his back and he'd carry it on a scooter across Ethiopia unscathed" joke. Not because famine jokes bad, but because he was pussyfooted about black people in the States thinking it might be racist.
Billy Corgan said he liked the joke. It clearly made it past editing and review, it was approved just fine.
What killed the NWA for me was that after Cornette left, the soul of the commentary was gone. The connection with the past was gone.
Then following lockdown, his top talent went to AEW and the WWE. It went a bit like the AWA.
