I always assumed those cochlear impant things basically made it so you could hear again but The Sound of Metal changed my perception of that, and how did it get infected?So mine isn't like what you see in those YouTube videos of people hearing for the first time. I have less than perfect but still fine hearing in my right ear, and really bad hearing in my left ear. The bone anchored hearing aid is supposed to use the eardrum in my right ear to give me hearing on my left side. It's a cool concept, but it can only be as good as the hearing on my right ear.
As for how it got infected, I don't know, just happened. I do my best to keep it clean. I've had little minor problems before but this one seemed major, like it bled a lot, and it seemed to come out of nowhere.
