>>18186585The whole baseline of Superman's story is that he's an immigrant, an alien, and an outsider. That was the intention of the original authors and it's remained that way down through the years for any competent Superman writer.
Now, of course, Superman isn't just an immigrant. Superman is an immigrant who fully embraced integration. He's basically a midwestern American guy because of his upbringing and he just looks like your normal white dude.
The original guys who wrote Superman were jews who were probably seething at their own people, jews who refused to integrate into American culture and insisted on bringing their zionism and clannishness into America. Superman is quintessentially American first and foremost, before he's Kryptonian or an immigrant, and I think that is a more conservative message politically than a lot of people are thinking.
So yeah, Superman is pro-immigration but it's pro leaving all of your cultural baggage at the door and just being American.
