>>18210809Guess I should've not been a coward and smoked crack, huh?
But I can believe that, and that's the kinda fucker Flair was too, just with less crack and more booze. Think he found the golden ratio with his substances to live this long.
Plane wreck, dead kid(s?), cancer. He's either tougher than leather, cursed, or both. I mean, yeah, millions of miles, dollars, people, sights, sounds, and bitches; all didn't make it as far and long as he has, but he's fucking paying for it.
Mind you, growing up, I hated Flair as a kid and young man. You start getting old, and you see some goddamned fossil who should be dead, realize that ~25 years ago, he was older than you are now and was working for YEARS before then.
I will say like others, that he worked one match, but that was how it worked then, and even now to a certain extent. But the cocky, overselling, chicken shit, motormouthed heel IS a thing. Ric may not have invented the trope, but the gimmick is cut up and rehashed everyday because of his success and longevity with it.
Probably not a good man, or even "wrestler" depending on your opinion, but a tough one who left an undeniable mark.
