This makes sense as everybody knows the show is on those days and it cuts doen on administration to have every wrestler sign for every match on the show. It also protects the WWE Board from liability and legal threats for backstage incidents, which is why they never get sued by wrestlers who are assaulted outside of matches.
However, PLEs are not covered under the normal weekly contract and every wrestler must sign for a match unless its unsanctioned whereby they sign a liability waiver.
Most of these are done behind the scenes by the GMs but on occasion, for big title matches, they do a live contract signing in the ring.
