Correction: The majority of wrestlers aren't afforded the luxury of retiring. Most of those guys working the convention loops aren't there because they have nothing else they'd rather be doing on a Saturday. Wrestling has an extremely shit exit plan in that it doesn't have one. For most one day it just ends and then you're left with what you got and have to figure out what you're doing to make ends meet beyond that. Someone like John Cena isn't going to be faced with this problem. The day he decides to hang it up, he can fully and surely never step foot back in a ring again unless he wants to. He has no unfinished business or reason to continue beyond that like you'll see with some. Edge and Undertaker are good examples. When he's done he's done

Cena would be a perfect fit for AEW. That US title run was basically proto AEW. A guy trying moves he can’t pull off even half the time on national television is the AEW house style.

You really think that would've worked? Cena has money. You can't bribe John Cena with wrestling contract level money. His loyalty to Vince and WWE would never be able to be bought out. The closest chance of him ever appearing in AEW is through some moving or brand sponorship AEW runs
