Perfect example of Dave’s generous tenor when covering AEW’s missteps. Hurt Business bury everyone and MVP wants to handpick the team that they lose to, turning down Tony’s suggestions. MJF sees himself as a big star but now he’s getting talked over by MVP in promos and says fuck this, I’m done with it. Tony apparently had no choice but to kill the entire storyline with no payoff despite building it for months. But when Dave reports it, it’s framed as an angle that got cut a tad shorter than expected due to an anonymous request.

They had a road map for a long term story. MJF awkwardly coexists as a “junior” member of the stable, but when he cashes in and wins the world title it creates a power struggle since he now holds the top prize. The struggle leads to either him or the stable turning face and finishing with a Lashley/MJF world title match at a PPV. Yeah I think this is the clear end goal of FTR winning the belts in the first place which makes all of the drama over it so fucking ridiculous. You have their monumental moment for AEW in the palm of their hands. Edge and Christian haven't held tag titles together since their initial run as E&C. And wrestlers who should have zero fucking say in it are actively working to sabotage it. I hope both Edge and Christian get out of there first chance they get
