>>18507874I was speaking in general terms about the industry as a whole... but, yes, there are many individual feds worth watching right now.
CMLL is fun, if a little repetitive. It's always nice to see the respect shown to the older guys on the roster and I'll watch anything with Hechicero and Mascara Dorada. I'm keeping an eye on Xelhua.
All Japan has finally woken up again, if they put things on the right track soon (take the belt off that goober Saito), and set up some top heels they could really have something. Hideki Suzuki is always interesting, Yuma Anzai should be healthy soon and I'll never give up on Ashino!
NOAH is working on something with Team 2000X and KENTA's reign. Hopefully, OZAWA has more tricks up his sleeve. Soya needs a rocket-push ASAP. At least Kitamiya seems like he might get the push he's needed.
DragonGate is interesting. GLEAT is sinking, a shame because it was a decent BattleArts style fed. Nakajima taking a stranglehold to their title scene will hopefully payoff... doubt it, and I love Nakajima. NJPW is in a really bad state right now, they're poised to unleash a new era after repeated and frustrating setbacks... but they don't want to push the talent that connects with the audience. The fans want Uemura & Oiwa but the booker wants Tsuji & Shota. Keep pushing the wrong people and they'll only sink further. Sanada didn't work, EVIL didn't, Sabre didn't... Goto was a brief respite but they're just lost. WWE has way too many women's matches, way too many worn out faded nobodies like Rollins on the roster. AEW is lame and indulges in the worst self-indulgent booking. How they turned Mox from red hot to go-away is beyond me. Too many egos and Khan is a pussy. The US indie scene is in a bad state... DPW is the only thing worth watching. Japanese indy scene is cool, Tenryu Project has some strong juniors. The Astronauts are amazing wherever they roam, Hikaru Sato too.
There's good and bad, but the bigger scene seems stagnant at best.
