Why would they stop using the big gold belt which was easily the most recognizable and beautiful wrestling championship belt?
The winged eagle is number 2.

Sort of yes. I haven't really watched any wrestling since Hogan turned face at whatever wrestlemania that was against the rock. I didnt even see that event, by that time i was only watching occasionally. The last time until recently I remember watching wrestling was the following monday night raw which i attended live. I watched heavily as a kid from 1985 ish until 92 or something then again as teenager from 97 until it fizzled out for me in early 2000s.

Sorry i meant 90. Wrestlemania 6. Hogan jobbing to Warrior dissillusioned me. Actually kicked another kid who was a big warrior fan in the head (roundhouse because i was into jcvd) for talking smack in the schoolyard. He did that rain dance shit and i lost it.

Agree. But it is a better example of "prominent brand placement" that the W. It's completely unecessary though because the belt design itself should be the branding. Big gold had that, so did the eagle, and this one would too if they dont change it everytime it changes hands like wwe used to do.
