Sometimes I go back and watch NJPW matches from the 2010s that got 4.5/4.75 and it's absolutely crazy how much better than are than modern matches that get in the 5-5+ range

2009 at least. Dave seemed to completely lose what sanity he had left when Misawa died in the ring. He was a massive Misawa fan and I don't think he really gives a shit about wrestling now. Misawa's death changed him. He always had biases though, such as towards WCW and Flair and against WWF and Hogan. But he at least seemed sane.
