If she had made the magical girl gimmick work, I'm pretty sure Vince and later Gaytch would've found a place for her in the main roster. It was unique, had a special appeal, and didn't ask her to leave her strong style of wrestling behind. In retrospective, it was pretty much a gift to her so she could be succesful in the company.
