Darby matches are legitimate spectacles because he's shoot insane and his black and white vignettes are kino. He also has aura even though it's fucking weird aura. He'd get AEW back to at least low 600k which isn't great but it's better than the absolute fucking abyss that Hangtranny is plunging them into.

600k is an improvement over 400k. Darby wouldn't "fix" the ratings but he'd help them. He's literally the only interesting person on the AEW roster and the only guy WWE has no answer for. You put him front and center as champion and a number of lapsed fans would tune in to watch him do crazy shit they can't see anywhere else.

There's a difference between Darby being just another guy on the roster and being the main character of AEW. He'd draw as the main character. And you can say "but he'd barely draw" and yeah that's true but barely drawing is an improvement over Hangma'am actively running people off.
