>>18780815>>18780929Actual MMA fan here. In her prime, she was the best female fighter in the world, but it was obvious to hardcore fans that she had glaring holes in her game and that it was only a matter of time before the rest of the girls caught up given the fact that she was only winning fights via armbar submission.
The hate started when she managed to knock this one Brazilian girl out in less than 20 seconds, and commentators like Joe Rogan started saying that she could beat up regular men or that she should challenge for the men's bantamweight championship (he doesn't say that anymore) but at the time this was what was going around media circles. She then came out and challenged Mayweather to a boxing match and Dana White said she would beat him up. This is when the fanbase turned on her officially, and ironically enough her next fight was against Holly Holm who was a 10/1 underdog that absolutely whooped her from post to post.
She took the loss pretty hard and this made fans sour on her even more. After Holly lost the belt, she made her big return but against the actual best female fighter of all time Amanda Nunes. Throughout the promotion of the fight, only Ronda's face was used in the poster, which angered fans even more, and the UFC didn't promote Amanda at all. It was all about how the GOAT Ronda was coming back. She got whooped and embarrassed again, a lot worse than in the Holm fight.
And she officially retired for good, and that's when WWE scooped her up, but they soon found out how difficult she was to work with lol she hates losing, even if it's in scripted matches...Burning bridges down after she got let go was really dumb but it's not like the fans are chanting her name
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
