Serious question: What did/does Triple H ever see in this guy?

Sure he had some great matches in NXT. I'm certain he can be trusted to look after people and make anyone look good.
But why this guy? It just seems very odd that Hunter has always had a boner for him in particular.

I think it's long term. I imagine they want him as a producer/trainer more than a talent. Put him on tv, give him some belts for credibility with the fans, retire, train guys.
