It breaks a long-standing tradition of doing it in the United States for a short-term windfall, and the show itself suffers for an audience that isn't all that engaged.
With that being said it's not some kind of moral catastrophe. I've never understood why people think that the Saudis spending hundreds of millions on soccer players and wrestling shows is a bad thing. That's money that's NOT being used to kill journalists or repress women.
