I certainly found no joy in Kirk's murder despite disagreeing with a lot of his opinions, and I do care that someone's husband and father was brutally murdered over words
But at the same time I can't pretend like some of the stuff he said wasn't easily triggering to some Luigi out there looking for a reason to kill someone. Words do have consequences, even if the consequences aren't well-deserved
On the other hand....some of the same people people on the left saying "freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences" in response to Kirk's death, are the ones who now have a problem with people getting punished for celebrating Kirk's death on social media
You can't have it both ways. You can't look at Kirk's corpse and say "oh well, shouldn't have been talking shit", then turn around and complain when you or people on 'your side' lose your jobs for expressing your freedom of speech
Either freedom of speech should have consequences, or it shouldn't
Pick one, and be consistent with it
