It's a shame No Mercy is the better game because this has clearly the superior roster. Over half of No Mercy is jobber lower card jabronis that nobody would want to ever play.

No Mercy has more match types and story mode, that definitely helps. I still think Revenge blows it out of the water. My all time favorite US based wrestling game roster.

Someone who was making the game was a fan of his if I remember right. Coincidentally it helped tie into the main 4 factions featured in the game. nWo Hollywood, Wolfpac, The Flock and WCW itself.

Mine too. Also maybe my favorite intro movie. That fucking big rig lol. I believe I put the most time in World Tour by far though. Christmas '97, we got Diddy Kong Racing and World Tour, both with strategy guides - so I obsessively learned the ins and outs. I remember taping matches with my friend. Lovely days. Had a handful of Saturn games I couldn't really get into bc of the language barrier. Idk No Mercy may be better, I just didn't play it much

He had a big push and I personally was a big mark. I'm not sure how popular he actually was but he seemed to get the right kind of heat.

I watched WCW my whole life until it shut down and was actually convinced that Steven Richards was somehow getting a giant push in WWF because I didn’t know that he replaced The Giant/The Big Show in No Mercy’s story modes

As a retarded kid I got Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy at the same time. I always played WM2000 because it's Wrestlemania branded, of course it's better than the B-PPV game

I mean, Raven was always an upper midcard guy in WCW. He always had a storyline or feud going on. He was infinitely treated better there than WWE although that’s not saying much.

Maybe I just haven't played the 64 games in too long so the gameplay in Empire seems great to me. But yeah, the career stuff and writing is worth the price alone.
I only have WWE 2K23 for recent games, I've never don't any career modes in 2k but I kind of want to now. Worth it? The tutorial in that game was difficult but I was also drunk so I gave up playing
