This one has me quite puzzled and I don't know if it's a wrestling reference or not
Post-punk band Wire have this song called Single K.O. where it seems like the lyrics are using wrestling as an abstract metaphor, but I'm not quite if it's pro wrestling, amateur wrestling, or some primitive form of MMA. When Colin Newman says
>I'm leaning over backwards>Shoulders pressed to the door>Two falls or one submission>Or a single K.OI don't know if british wrestling matches were two fall contests, or if they even had knockout finishes in 1979. I always thought the common rules were the multiple round world of sport sort of contests.
