Can anyone name one thing that he advocates for that is bad? He mainly argues for booking wrestling that 1
makes sense and 2. can somewhat suspend belief.

For example, Kenny Omega is one of my favorite wrestlers (ironic right) so I watched him vs Moxley on YT. It was mainly just them spamming objects with no actual moves nor wrestling. What the fuck?

I also saw some Ricoshit segments and they're stupid acrobatics. That's not WRESTLING.

Cornette's strength is logic in wrestling. But his weakness is he's too stuck in the past and too stubborn to be modern. His most successful periods in creative were funnily enough working with someone like Russo who would push the envelope but Corny would pull on the reins and balance it out. People shit on Cornette and say he sucks because of SMW going down and his ROH run not working, but he has value just in a particular more supporting way.

Wrestling related Russo and Bischoff’s bookings are a fine blueprint for wrestling. The idea was to make sure that viewers were always tuning in.

Oh and let's not forget Smoky Mountain Wrestling which while has had its place in pro wrestling, often contradicts many of Cornette's takes and especially on comedic wrestling. For example him going up against a guy in a ninja turtle suit at a house show.

Cornettes arguments about "realism" aren't based on making things look like a shoot like Inoki wanted to. It's more just having a logical in universe canon where people being hit with moves or weapons would actually sell them. People will take a Canadian Destroyer through a flaming table onto thumbtacks and kick at two. Modern wrestling at this point is just like movies or games set in 1100's Europe having the same demographic make up as modern day New York, and when people point out how dumb it looks the only argument they get is "WELL ITS ALL FAKE ANYWAY WHO CARES"

Classic, southern wrestling, has never failed on the national level. By the time WCW was airing nationally the Turner execs had already sunk their teeth in. We really just don't know if wrestling that makes sense, is ran like sporting event where things can go wrong, and the talent do everything they can to connect to the audience will fail, because it has never been attempted. All things indicate that it would be a huge success because it emphasize everything that's actually important about wrestling.

I think probably the dumbest thing that AEW does, and they do so many dumb things, is they'll have a heel use a weapon to cheat, the babyface will kick out, and then they'll do 100 more moves and the heel will win with their finisher. Technically, the heel did cheat to win, but the cheating did not appear to give any sort of advantage and is most likely forgotten by most viewers by the time the finish happens. So it feels like the heel won clean and the babyface is a weak faggot.

The funniest thing about Jim is that he was afraid to let on he knew the business was a work after he was already a photographer, hanging out backstage and his family were friends with a wrestler.
