He was good in his matches with Bret but so is almost everybody. He's been completely unexceptional in every match I've watched from '97 outside of one match against The British Bulldog and I'm in mid June.

97 wasn't even his best year, look up 1994 PPVs or Raw is War from 98. Hart Foundation was cool but DX vs. Nation was his best promo work.

Owen was one of those guys who just couldn't get any heat backstage because he was too funny and relaxing to be around, even when he was ribbing people.
And those ribs never went far. Silly far yes, but not "let's shit in his dinner" far like the Kliq did.
The bag of weed story says enough. Other guys wouldn't get away with that, they couldn't even get Vince to smoke up if they tried.

Meanwhile in the ring, he's the perfect enhancer. Good enough to protect his position and only look as foolish as intended, always putting everyone over and making people look stronger.
Did he have "the best match of all time"? No. Did he have the worst? No. Owen matches were a unicorn in the wrestling business: exactly as booked, exactly as intended, every single time.
And then he fucked up a piledriver on Steve Austin. Every clock needs an adjustment now and then.
But look on the bright side, that mistake gave us the promo-heavy badass that made people love Austin more.
And then Owen plummeted off the rafters.
But look on the bright side, a lot of people made a lot of money talking about him after that.

no. the dude was never any good and i dont care about any wrestling except usa wrestling. lets face it without being a hart and having those connections owen would never have even been a wrestler. he was short and small muscle wise for a wrestler back then. nothing about him stood out. if he had tried to be a wrestler and not been a hart he would have only been a jobber like rusty brooks or frankie williams in the 80s

owen hart did popularize the enzuigiri, at least as far as american wrestling was concerned. when i was a kid i shoot knocked another kid out with that move. i threw a kick, he grabbed my foot, so i did what i saw owen do on tv lol. i didnt land right and it hurt me as well.
