Smackdown was actually really good for most of 2008-2009. Better than most of the Ruthless Aggression era at least. And much better than any show today. RAW was terrible and the entire product was bad enough to drive me away in 2010 though.

Raw was fine until the 2009 draft where they drafted away most of the talent and then had the shitty celebrity guest hosts take their place
SD was fine until they mishandled Edge's first face run by trying to make "spear" chants a thing and then making Swagger champion
ECW built up a decent niche in the late 2000s as the developmental brand with Morrison, Miz and Christian

I guess I can't hate on that logic. Brock is cool and all, but how many times did we have to go through Roman's "Looks like Brock didn't show up for work today" thing, and kinda funny that his character ended up doing that same thing during the Tribal Chief run

Even if the vast majority was complete garbage, there were still gems scattered throughout and moments that I'm not ashamed to say I remember fondly. Overall, it was pretty terrible though, especially the guest host era of RAW.

Yup. And truth be told this is pretty much all of wrestling always. No matter what point you look back to there's always going to be shitty stuff happening on the same show with some really great moments or matches or angles or whatever. It's just the nature of wrestling
