Outside of wrestling is another matter, but within wrestling...I think I actually agree with OP.
One of my favorite copes I've heard from WWE is with Cena's heel turn and saying the Rock ruined it by not being there. Granted, it makes the storyline stupid (in wrestling?! unheard of!) but they're also basically admitting that they're all dimeless compared to Rock if that much is lost without his presence. Really? So Cena, one of the "all-time greats" can't make a go with it without another all-time great shouldering the load? I don't remember Hollywood Hogan needing that for his heel turn. How about HHH? The "le greatest booker of all time" couldn't write a compelling story without Rock there to hold his hand?
If WWE is basically all but admitting they suck without him, that means Rock was in the RIGHT.
