aew marketing is 'where the best wrestle'. their entire identity is having the best in-ring talent having the most 5 star matches. aew can't reach the standard they have set.

wwe wants to make money, sell toys & tshirts and present a variety show with matches. now, wwe can licence an iyo figure with a neckbrace, have her do skits from a hospital bed and run an angle in marigold with iyo & kairi next month.

aew & wwe aren't in the same business and shouldn't be compared.

I went frame-by-frame on >>18992467 and she does her arms at that last moment but her left shoulder blocks the shot from that camera angle so it's difficult to know if she connected when them first or the back base of her head. Even if it was safe execution it's not a safe place to take a hard bump in even if by accident with the margin of error in timing being so small to make it look good. We can do without spots that like and no one would miss it.

Counter point: They're not little girls. They've both been wrestling for over decade each and Iyo is approaching the two decades of experience point. They've been working together since Kairi first started and know what eachother can do. They know the risks and presumably ran the spot by higher ups who also knew the risks and cleared it.
It's a dangerous fake sport/stunt show. There are risks involved in everything they do. Someone can land wrong jumping off a turnbuckle and also seriously hurt his or hers self. At what point do we stop aiming for safety in *everything*?
It was a risky spot but they knew how to do it and did it as safely as it could be done. It contributed to the story and got people talking about the angle. It's seemed to pay off.
