You can see it in his eyes when he F-Us Edge through the tables and takes ott the belt that he didn't want to do it. It would have been much more interesting if Cena went to SmackDown after the match and Edge remained as the heel champ on RAW, feuding with a returning Jeff Hardy for the belt.
>winning the Royal Rumble in 2008Yes, it's considered a classic now, but it was the quintessential LOLCENAWINS moment back in the day. People were really fed up with him at the time and having a Mania season without Cena felt like a breathe of fresh air. Then he just comes back 6 months earlier than expected at the number 30 spot and wins the Rumble. Fucking hated it.
>vs Chris Jericho at Survivor Series 2008A forgotten one, Jericho was on the heel run of his life and finally got the Big Gold around his waste. Cena was out with injury since around SummerSlam I think. Out of the blue, it gets announced that he's coming back and challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship. No buildup, he didn't earn it in kayfabe in any way, shape or form. He wasn't the champion when he went down with injury, he didn't even hold the WHC before that. So he just comes back and beats Jericho clean for the title, then beats him the next PPV clean again. Jericho deserved better, he carried the promotion for most of the calendar year, it was very disappointing.
