I always thought AJPW would be the way to go. Prestigious history yet absolutely dirt cheap right now. The style they're currently using even fits with WWE.
They key would be to lean on the Japanese traditions of the company while incorporating western aspects and using tournaments like the Champion Carnival to get over the superstar talents they want to push. I think a puroresu/western hybrid would be pretty based myself, like Japanese style but with more Western theatrics.
