It always felt like as a kid that WCW had Sting and WWF had Hogan, it's a big reason the build to Starrcade 97 was so over, two top guys that could finally have a match after a decade of fantasy booking. Sting, Hogan Lex and Macho being on that card was as good as it gets for me, wonderful memories. I remember being legit sad for a long time when WCW closed and I quit wrestling, then Sting got me to tune into TNA a few years later, which he helped legitimize. My perspective may be skewed as hes my favorite ever but there's no denying he was the top face in the business for a good stretch and one of the most legendary stars ever
