Even before H dated Steph, he was in the Kliq and friends with Shawn. He was still doubly in Vince's ear and had top card nepotism thanks to Shawn. He absolutely would've still been around, maybe not as much in the main event scene, but still a more prominent heel. He'd have way less title reigns but I think some shit like DX reuniting would've still happened, but let's try to look at the bigger picture.
H cheating on Chyna was what caused her insecurities to boil over, eventually walk into Vince's office and demand a bigger contract, and got shown the door. From there her life was a downward spiral. So if he never dated Steph, and at the least broke things off amicably with Chyna, DX probably would've had a stronger reunion and not have been as retarded. And then he has his career like normal, being there for Shawn's return and all that, still competing in Mania (though not as many main event spots) and having the same boring segments.
This is all to say, that through the accumulation of being a good soldier and one of Vince's favorites, would probably eventually end up with a higher position than most, and probably have been mainly booking NXT instead of Shawn and have that be his permanent gig until he gets bored. And also appearing on slop like LFG, because that's where washed up careers (and Mickie James) go on, I guess. Shawn probably would've been a coach or whatever at the PC, Chyna probably the same for the women or something loosely related.
