I was watching TNA when it started. It was shit on relentlessly, people proclaimed that the company was genuinely about to die (kek) because of its awfulness, and even TNA itself made fun of it. It got over because it embraced its goofiness, and TNA didn't have anything to lose. It also helped that Broken Matt was far better as a heel rather than a face.

The original Broken Matt Hardy stuff got me watching wrestling again for the first time in decades. As a result of that I ended up getting some recommended vids on YT and one was of the WhatCulture guys watching and reacting to match and they were all shitting on it unfairly. I can't remember the last time I watched this show but ffs the n in nxt really does stand for nig nog. There was only one men's match that didn't have blacks in it.
