Tony's issue is that he's too nice and wants to let everyone get their shit in and it just makes for boring matches and events. Look at how many snowflakes AEW has and the most memorable matches probably happened within the first two years rather than anything recent, despite what Dave says. Look at O'Spreay's career.
Nigga was supposed to be the fresh face, but Tony just threw him in 50/50 matches against EVERYONE on the card to appease Meltzer. It's fucking stupid. First two years, you knew who was on top because they'd beat people decisively. If they get a ME, it'd be a gimmick match of some sort but it would be like ten minutes. It felt more like Nitro than 2003 RAW because anything could happen, any one could face anyone. Today, it's just "These guys are good in the ring, hopefully dave gives this *****"
