Chikara also filled a unique niche and had a plenty of wrestlers you couldn't see anywhere else. You wanted to see Hallowicked matches, then you generally had to watch Chikara. And yeah, KoT was a cool event and I think even after it came back it was still generally a cool thing up until maybe 2015 or 2016, whatever year it was where they switched mostly to using their own newer guys and shitty UK fly-ins. That one year where it was held in Bongistan was the real moment it died.
Which is another cool thing about the 2000s/early 2010s indie scene. The promotions all actually had their own style, presentation and wrestlers. The mid/late 2010s was mostly all the same guys working the same style of matches in different promotions and the only ones that really stood out as their own thing were Beyond and GCW.
