You have three main ones: Stardom, TJPW, and Marigold.
Stardom is the one with the matches that get hyped. It has a solid roster of workers, and it's the main events that get praised. Presentation is much like New Japan in a lot of ways, since it's also owned by Bushiroad. It's also the second highest drawing company in Japan after New Japan at the moment, which is really saying something for a women's wrestling company.
TJPW is more like DDT, since it's DDT's sister promotion. Honestly, I think it's what most people think of when they think of joshi wrestling - more focus on silly side stuff than actual in-ring work, frilly costumes, and a higher focus on character work. Everyone is "friends" so they get called the friendly girls. They're known for putting on good shows, but it's not really the most solid matches I've ever seen although they have some solid workers and decent main events. You're more likely to see stuff like giant mascots wrestling or really silly gimmick matches there. I think the emphasis is on fun more than the actual wrestling.
Marigold is a newer company, founded by the guy who founded Stardom. They have two of the top women wrestlers in the world - Mayu Iwatani and Utami Hayashishita. Miku Aono is the current champion and is quite good as well although not as established as those two due to not having worked in Stardom. Sareee also works shows and is solid. The thing with Marigold, though, is that the rest of the roster is either quite green or not very good. What I will say is that a lot of the green talent has quite a bit of potential to become a lot better, and it's more fun to watch with the understanding that it will probably get good someday. Big shows can be fun but you really can't go into them with high expectations.
There are a lot of other smaller promotions as well, like Marvelous, Sendai, OZ Academy, and a few others. These are very small promotions. They tend to be heavily ring work oriented.
