With a competent booker AEW would have so much to work with. Just rein in the spotfests and worst tendencies while promoting solid match psychology. They'd cooperate too because they're never going to see that kind of money again. Even Ospreay was doing alright once New Japan got him to dial it back a bit after becoming a heavyweight.
But naw, AEW has Tony booking instead.

What booking job. Tony literally told him no one's booking the show but him. He would've just sat in catering every week and occasionally show up for a segment twice a year.
AEW is stupid bad where there's stuff to shit on while WWE is boring bad where there's nothing to even talk about.

Tony admits he worships the ground Corny walks on and listens to his podcasts regularly. Corny wouldn't be booker but I think he would've had a huge influence on how Tony books if Corny stuck with AEW from day one.

Sounds like shitty agents and/or lack of authority are the issues. And long-term the lack of developmental is an issue too.

Now that I think about it AEW would have been unstoppable if they started with all that momentum and had Punk and had Cody, MJF, Omega, Darby, etc. booked properly then got Bryan, Switchblade, Undisputed Era, and everyone else and had shit like Pillman Jr. booked into kino storylines after the Dark Side episode, etc

He was going to be hired to advise Tony on booking, aka filter him. What made him turn it down was learning Omega and Bucks would be EVPs as he knew the direction that would go and ultimately Tony would side with whoever he felt his friends were. Cornette pretty much saw how everything would happen before the company started.
