Assplay and Swerve are both out with long term injuries. The Don Callis Family is STILL feuding with Omega, and has like 13 members now. MJF has a Money in the Bank contract, and is currently out filming a movie. Adam Copeland is also out doing something.
Okada and Takeshita doing Bloodline chills cinema is currently the hottest story in the company.
Hangman is flopping as champion again, and feels like an afterthought as champion again. He also got AEW to start referring to the AEW World Championship as the AEW Men's World Championship which is extremely gay.
He's currently in a feud with Samoa Joe, who has zero chance of winning going into another PPV. So they probably won't main event again unless MJF returns to win the title.
It's pretty clear MJF is set to be the next World Champion after killing the company with his last run. Tony never learns. Hangman has no heels to fight against, so they had to turn Joe heel out of nowhere to get two PPV matches out of.
AEW still has the problem where everyone is in their own bubble universe, and won't interact outside of it. The obvious opponent for Hangman should be Okada, but he just kind of floats around carrying his prop title.
AEW has more belts than ever. Over 15 I think, and that's not counting all the belts Mercedes carries around. Titles have never meant less in a company than AEW. Yes they're props, but they still have to mean something to make anyone care.
