Comcast is a $100 billion company. If they are that worried about WWE ratings, if they're that concerned with recouping their money, then they can use their own ad slots during Sunday Night Football or other top programming to air WWE commercials. These deals are all partnerships, not just "Bring the viewers while we do no promotion, no commercials, nothing at all" situationships.
It's also the case that it's not on AEW to bring every single viewer to AEW. WBD not using more of their own airtime to air AEW ads may point to a belief they could make more money from airing a paid ad vs advertising AEW, but that's an internal calculation they are making of their own volition. Once again, it doesn't change the reality of the situation.
