Naito got to be part of Muto's retirement. I imagine Tana just had him on standby in case he couldn't get Nakamura or Okada. Even Kenny probably would've had a higher chance to retire Tana over Naito.

AEW's literally inserting a guy it poached away from New Japan, who said he wanted nothing to do with New Japan any longer, and hasn't been there in years, into a retirement match where it could literally be anyone else and where you *know* better alternatives were blocked. Naito. Fuck, there was even talk of Nakamura.
At least try to be a little honest here.

When Vince gave HHH the go-ahead to expand internationally he brought in Okada, Naito and Ibushi. Vince's teams then botched all 3 signings which is I guess why HHH did all major recruiting by himself after that and people were told to call him directly.
