>Oil isn't foreverRussia and other countries are happy to supply as much gas to the world as possible, but the ongoing war effort has seen the Middle-East snatch up way more market share in Europe, East Asia and Africa. Germany (who had multiple plants prior to knocking them down) has basically become dependant on this oil to function. Amusingly this oil would have been the Brit's if they kept their foot down, but that's another history lesson. These Arab's are invest into all sorts of state only tech and are basically aware that the world is being forced into a "echo friendly" direction with or without them. So cash out of oil now and own whatever else they can get to maintain status
>Westernisation vs. Cultural normsAlmost every heir to the thrown, they've spent little time in Saudi Araba. The kids are sent abroad (typically America or the UK) from a young age for education. Yet once they finish everything and enjoyed the Western perks up until their 20's, they are expected to return home, sit in a boring ass sand castle that nobody wants to visit. Thus the current Kingdom's leadership is trying to "Westernise" it's image, mostly via tourism and said investments mentioned above. "Sports washing" is another term used when it comes to Golf, Soccer etc. "The world will like us if we give e-sports players millions and have a Mr. Beast theme park" whilst at the same time, still abiding by extremist Islamic rules because they aren't the true one rulers as of yet. The kids have done small things (Women can drive cars, dress more freely etc.) but this has only angered the other more hardcore Islamic nations nearby.
tl:dr; Zoomer Saudi's want us Americans and Euroes to like them, but are stuck with a religious cult to deal with
