Not really. They still need a network deal which has sponsors and commercials. So they need to put a product forward that those advertisers would want their ads running during
Not to mention what's even the sense of a "new attitude era?" The attitude era worked as it was and when it was for a reason. It piggybacked off of ECW's success playing into the counter culture and MTV popularity of the mid to late 90s. It wasn't just something that could happen at anytime. It needed society and pop culture being what it was as part of its ingredients
All of this is a moot point anyway because AEW is shit

Exactly. Which in all consideration of what we've seen in wrestling is pretty fucking tame. We're in this really strange place right now where not only could current society not handle what there was in the attitude era but at the same time wouldn't even blink an eye to it so it'd lose its effectiveness anyway. The average person isn't going to care more about wrestling if they can swear more. Or if they're more violent. Or if you get to see some titties. Everyone's seeing all of that on Netflix and everywhere else these days anyway. Meanwhile the only people who would care about all of that are corporations and advertisers and shareholders and all the money fucks who drain the life out of anything anyway. It'd just be all risk for no reward anyway
