Recap

> One of the craziest stories involved the 11/8 Houston tapings. Anna Jay & Tay Melo were booked for a tag team match with Nixon Newell & Miranda Alize. When Newell & Alize found out the match would be three minutes, they asked if it could be ten minutes and more competitive, saying that they last week did a squash to Marina Shafir & Megan Bayne. They were told the show was already laid out time wise. So they said they were leaving. AEW got Hyan & Maya World to replace them. It stunned everyone. While AEW has had issues with former WWE talent not wanting to lose in AEW, these were two women who were not under contract with the idea that if they did well they could be signed to a deal. I’d be shocked if they were brought back. There were issues in their first match because Bayne felt they sandbagged her (didn’t go up smoothly) on the double German suplex spot, although the spot itself looked very good but Bayne had to really muscle them up and over.

Info

>One person involved with the independent scene said they didn’t believe this publicity would help get Newell bookings even though this became kind of the talk in wrestling and some indie promoters think that controversy will help sell tickets and they aren’t just two random women. But one person who books independent talent said they disagreed. “Wasn’t it just the other week you were talking about wrestlers who had leverage not wanting to do business? How about wrestlers with zero leverage? Nixon isn’t gonna get work out of this. She wasn’t getting work before and was crying about it. She asks way too much money and sells zero tickets on her name alone. Usual WWE brain rot.”
